Part One -- M.E.A UltraSonics II Center Guide System

The M.E.A UltraSonics II Center Guide System offers ultrasonic and linear-response technology that eliminates centerline shift, promises the ideal answer for payoff reel control so that strip can be positioned properly on the centerline and provides a low-cost, trouble-free solution for all intermediate steering and guiding on process lines.  The M.E.A UltraSonics II Center Guide System features the first and only offline sensor with nothing above or below the strip. Sensor damage due to strip breaks is eliminated. So trouble-free, parts are warranted for three full years!  What's more, the system installs offline, quickly and easily. There is no need to shut down your line during installation or during maintenance.

Benefits:

  • Measures the centerline of all strip widths within + or - 0.025" accuracy
  • Offers interference-free operation
  • Not a photo-electric device so the M.E.A. system is not affected by ambient temperature variation, ambient light, smoke, steam and oil
  • Signal output is compatible with any and all manufacturer's center guide steering units
  • Handles all materials, opaque and transparent, with a minimum edge thickness to 0.020" -- steel, aluminum, plastic and more
  • Designed to operate over a strip width range 24" to 72"
  • Eliminates the frame for mounting sensors above and below the strip.

Whether a new application or a retrofit of an existing center guide system, the M.E.A . Ultrasonics II Center Guide System lets you replace your sensor – quickly, easily and inexpensively…bring today’s technology to your operation.

Part Two -- M.E.A. Ultrasonics II Strip Width Gauging

Width measurement of your sheet or strip products can be critical to the profitability of your processing line. Tight margins and demand for quality make it imperative the processes know the exact strip width at all times.  M.E.A. offers you the first simple, low cost, width gauge system using today’s newest ultra-sonics technology.  M.E.A., Inc.’s low maintenance, easy-to-operate strip width measurement systems use off-line, non-contact, ultrasonic sensors, versatile enough for the most demanding ambient environment.  M.E.A. Ultrasonics II Strip Width Gauging is ideal for determining actual size of any strip on any process line.  With resolutions up to + or - 0.025”, the M.E.A. system meets most accuracy requirements of virtually any application.  M.E.A.’s ultrasonic sensing heads adapt to any strip gauging applicationcenter guiding, edge guiding, coil centering as well as width gauging. The same sensing heads can be adapted for width gauging and center guiding, simply by adding control electronics.  Sensing heads are installed or replaced off-line, no need to shut down your process line during installation.  No costly maintenance either. Off-line sensors eliminate the need for support above and below the strip. No need to stop the process line if maintenance is required.  Sensing heads are unaffected by ambient light, smoke, steam, oil and temperature variation.

Bottom line: M.E.A., Inc. sensors increase your profitability by reducing process downtime due to offline maintenance.

***With both M.E.A., Inc. systems combined, you get the most accurate, durable and trouble-free system available today for measuring and guiding sheet or strip products on process lines.***
